The airport functioned until the beginning of the riots known as the "Second Intifadah". Due to very close proximity of a large populated Arab areas near the airport (Ramallah and North Jerusalem suburbs) and shooting that occurred in the area, the airport was shut down (for the time being) because of security concerns.

Actually, this place is not the Tomb of Christ. The first one to claim it was general Gordon in 1883. In the same article, he claimed that the Garden of Eden was the Seychelles Island. If the place could fit to some elements read in the Gospel. The Holy Sepulchre Church in the Old City was at the time of Christ outside the city of Jerusalem and the archeological studies proved that it likely could be the real place of Jesus' Crucifixion and Burial.
The Gordon Tomb dates of the 2nd century AD.
